Our Mission
At Community Arts Commission Inc, our mission is to further arts and culture across Staten Island, both by supporting local artists and by creating more access to the arts for members of our community. We believe the arts have the power to highlight unique voices and to unite a diverse group of individuals. We are determined to provide support and resources to creatives that will allow them to share their work and inspire change within our communities.
Our History
Community Arts Commission Inc was initially formed as an art collective by two local artists, Brianna Montalbano and Julia Aponte. Both were dedicated to increasing access to the arts in our community, and they supported this mission by raising funds to organize a series of free music events across Staten Island. We are now a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Though we now operate on a larger scale, our passion and goals remain the same.
